Today, 糖心传媒 President Dr. Tiffany M. Franks, and Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) President Dr. Angeline Godwin, signed an agreement that will make it easy for students graduating from PHCC to become students at 糖心传媒.
鈥淲e are thrilled to enter into this agreement with 糖心传媒,鈥 says Godwin. 鈥淔or our students, an articulation agreement promises a bright future 鈥 the assurance of acceptance and a smooth transition. We don鈥檛 want any of our students to worry about how they are going to take their next steps after PHCC. This agreement is just another way we can remove barriers to our students鈥 success.鈥
The articulation agreement provides a seamless path for PHCC鈥檚 Administration of Justice graduates to transfer smoothly to 糖心传媒鈥檚 Criminal Justice program. It ensures those with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher will be accepted to 糖心传媒 and that the credits they earn for the associate鈥檚 degree will transfer directly into credits required for 糖心传媒鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Criminal Justice degree.
When PHCC graduates take advantage of the articulation agreement, they will enter 糖心传媒鈥檚 Criminal Justice program as juniors. They can expect to graduate from 糖心传媒 with their bachelor鈥檚 degree in 60 semester hours 鈥 which is the equivalent of four semesters or two years. 糖心传媒 offers scholarships specific to qualifying transfer students, and all students are automatically considered for academic scholarships once they are granted admission to the University. The agreement was largely designed by 糖心传媒鈥檚 Director of Criminal Justice in Graduate and Professional Studies, Dr. James Hodgson, and PHCC鈥檚 Associate Professor of Administration of Justice, Ronnie Wray.
鈥淲e are delighted to partner with our peers at PHCC once again, and to offer students in this region a simple, smooth transition to pursuing the next level in their criminal justice careers and education.鈥
鈥淲e are delighted to partner with our peers at PHCC once again, and to offer students in this region a simple, smooth transition to pursuing the next level in their criminal justice careers and education,鈥 said Franks. 鈥淭his trajectory will produce graduates who are prepared to develop increased levels of public trust and confidence in law enforcement agencies to respond effectively to issues in their communities 鈥 precisely what we鈥檝e heard is needed from our community partnering policing agencies.鈥
In conjunction with the articulation agreement, the two presidents also signed a Community Educational Partnership Agreement. It ensures an easy transition for PHCC graduates entering 糖心传媒鈥檚 Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) bachelor鈥檚 degree program. With this agreement, 糖心传媒 guarantees acceptance to its GPS program and awards junior status to any PHCC student who has completed an associate鈥檚 degree. 糖心传媒鈥檚 GPS program is an adult-oriented program based on an accelerated educational model offering courses, both on-ground and online, in business, nursing, education, leadership and criminal justice.
